Well this is me waiting for my double jaw consultation that just ended. Sadly insurance won’t cover it and it could cost $25,000 :( I know my maxilla is shit and this is the only thing that could fix it. Should I save up for it or work with what I got and get some kind of implants

Why does insurance not cover it? I wonder if insurance would cover if airway is obstructed like mine is

You could try taking a better picture, it's a lot cheaper than 25k

never began

You can get it way cheaper in a third world country, Dr Andreischev from Russia has really good prices

You're sort of in that no mans land where you're not recessed enough to be a "dead ringer" for double jaw surgery in the eyes of most local surgeons, but recessed enough to where implants alone may not yield the result you're looking for. Ultimately the route you choose to go is up to you.

If you don't get bimax, I think a reasonable course of action would be a genio (or chin wing) with a submental lipectomy, and some sort of midface lift with or without zygomatic/orbital implants.

You also have a pretty narrow palate but that's outside my area of expertise

Is a chin wing lengtheing of the chin and mandible? Can it be done at the same time as BSSO and genio?

The chin wing is like a genio but with the cut extending much further back along the mandible than a genio, often all the way back to the posterior aspect of the ramus. It can lengthen the mandible and/or chin if needed, and can be combined with something called a "high" bsso but not a regular bsso because of where they make the cut.

WOuld a surgeon be willing to perform Lefort 1, bsso, genio, chinwing + ccw rotation all in one surgery?

Lefort 1 includes BSSO and CCW. Genio (idk why you would get genio and chin wing) is almost always done with Lefort 1.

You wouldn't combine a genio with a chinwing, but many surgeons do the ccw with lefort/bsso/genio. Not nearly as many surgeons are experienced with the high bsso and chinwing.

Damn that's a lot of money man ugh

this is wrong; lefort 1 is maxilla movement. BSSO is lower jaw movement. “CCW” literally just means counterclockwise and is referring to the direction the jaws are (sometimes) rotated during surgery

OP have you looked into MSE? you might be a good candidate for that. If insurance isn’t going to cover double jaw, I assume your bite is normal.

MSE can widen your maxilla and your palate, as well as your cheekbones. It could be IDEAL for you. And then, after that, you could perhaps look into a wraparound jaw implant to sculpt a proper jawline for yourself.

The good news is that all of these surgeries I’ve mentioned are MUCH LESS BRUTAL than actual jaw surgery.

Sorry, I didn't mean that they're the same thing nor do the specifically go together. I just meant that if that's applicable to him, it would all be done in one surgery.

I think Lefort is for the maxilla and BSSO is for mandible
