What determines the detection of alt accounts?

Curious as to how this system flags alts, I live with my brother and he wants to register an account but we use the same internet connection. He hasn't joined yet because I don't want to get banned for him making an account.

So is it just IP or is it through device fingerprinting? I'm going to assume it's through fingerprinting and not just IP but let me know so I can clear this up with him

IP, time logged in, fingerprint, location too. The mods have alot more power than you think and patterns can disclose info too. Heck even screen size.

Iv talked to some mods on Discord about this. Its similar to Amazon's method to pin people who use many accounts to keep refunding.
