If we are being realistic, the majority of the people on the internet seem to correlate your language proficiency, i.e your writing skills, with your intelligence.
But is this true? Absolutely not! One must look at the concept and the idea that the person is proposing, not neccessarily the way it is expressed. When you see people on the internet arguing, they will often try and use grammar and say things like "I find this idea very stupid." or "I have never seen a more stupid opinion in my life." , but when you seriously take the time to dissect their message or argument, it is just complete chaff. Theres no substance whatsoever to what they say, but they prop it up with fancy puncutation to create a serious tone of sorts and make it SEEM their arguments yield some sort of merit. And their "attempts" at use of complex language fail completely when you realise they do not make full use of any complex vocabulary.
Therefore, I generally do not use full-on, academic english, e.g using proper puncutation, complex words, and purposefully stick to this "internet dialect", because when people listen to me, I do not wish for people to listen to my punctuation or self-percieved tone, I want them to listen to my ideas! My raw, unfiltered ideas, that should command respect in and of itself!
