If you are not a liberal when you are young, you have no heart, and if you are not a conservative when old, you have no brain.

Do you think young people in general are supposed to be liberal within their own cultural framework?

I think young people are liberal just because that is how they are raised, especially because most teachers are liberal

I think that it is true, in practice. People mostly do embrace liberalism when they are young. But by the time they are middle-aged, they usually switch sides and start to identify with conservatism more often.

Sometimes, people get more extreme and start identifying with Marxism, communism and socialism as well. You see this happening with college students all the time. But even these types of people usually end up switching to conservatism and start to embrace capitalism as they get older when they start to realize that the ideologies they used to hold such high regard, only appeal to unremarkable people who are insecure about themselves.

What about the opposite - people who were conservatives ever since they can remember. What makes a teenager a conservative in your opinion, especially if their environment has a liberal majority (as most young people are liberal)? Why do some people willfully swim against the tide?

The grass is greener over here
You're the fog that keeps me clear
Re-inventing what we knew
Take the time and I'll be true

They are possibly born divergent and cannot relate to society's hive mind.

Obviously, in any given era, most people will simply follow the status quo by virtue of it being the status quo, which is indeed liberal nowadays.

If you were to take your average liberal of this day and age and teleport him back to a more conservative era of the past, he'll almost certainly end up as a staunch conservative.

I'm fairly certain if today's SJW's were to be teleported into the '40s, they would be the ones rounding up Jews. If into the Soviet Union, they would be the ones snitching on their neighbours to secret police.

Absolutely, 100% spot on.

This is why I always find it laughable when people call anything that deviates from the status quo a ''conspiracy theory'' and try so hard to debunk them.
The most dangerous people in society have always been those who refuse to even think of what the other side of the story might look like and who try to uphold the official narrative about everything.
The obedient have always been the ones that are less likely to have common sense.

So, as you said, if you were to put these people in Stalin’s Russia/Mao’s China/Hitler’s Germany or
segregationist America, they would have been the ones to uphold their official narratives as well whilst simultaneously supporting/assisting the mass starving of Ukrainians/the cultural revolution/eugenics/the lynchings of blacks etc. instead of speaking out against them.

So anyone who is always co-signing the orthodoxy of everything is a danger to society because this is how tyranny has been able to gain a foothold time and time again.
