Seems like quite a lot to assume, how could one with full certainty claim the phenomena was completely nonexistent based on pictures & documents? Do these pictures & documents account for all people alive 200 years ago and prior?

At most, they could somewhat prove the condition was less common back then than it is now.

orthodontics is a scam, if they would just teach parents, what nutrition they should give children, plus observe tongue and body posture etc, a lot of people would look a lot better, plus never needing braces. But obv they wouldnt earn as much money anymore...
