There are still real world versions of countries, since the uk/france/india/Ottoman Empire /China and Japan were all shown during the rumbling.

Marley is supposed to be a sort of mixed empire in a sense, similar to the US. Most the population are white (based off German people) but there are many migrants (black and Turkish migrants are shown, along with some characters seeming french in origin)

Eldia is also mixed, but in a different sense to Marley. Marley is a white German nation with ethnic migrants, while eldia is just a mix of every ethnicity from everywhere (although there are still heavy emphasis in Germans). Eg mikasa being half Japanese half German (her first name being Japanese, surname german as the Ackerman are German) and Eren being half Turkish (from his mothers side, alomg with his first name being Turkish) and half German from his dads side (jager being a German name)

Erwin is supposedly british (smith is a British surname)

Levi is supposedly half French half german

Ymir (founder one) is supposedly Scandinavian, the lesbian one is Middle Eastern.

Armin is German

Zeke is full german aswell
