you have to smart to make money, but of course there are some 170 iq geniuses out there that are poor/medium class, not millionaires, but this is just because they're too autistic to form social connections and this blocks many opportunities they might have in life to get rich
instead, they just prefer to waste their entire day on a random irrelevant math problem
intelligence is not only being able to solve equations but the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills, such as making money
which means that too high iq is bad, but too low iq is also bad. There must be a perfect IQ.

Which is it?

Higher the better provided their intelligence is cultivated properly. I suspect the 170 IQ outliers you reference in the OP got pigeon holed at an early age into focusing on nerd subjects like Physics or Paleontology. And consider that if you are 170 IQ you may not feel motivated to make a lot of money, because having an 170 IQ is already a form of status.

Higher the better. There is no “too high”, there are some 150+ iq people who aren’t millionaires but there are even more 120 iq people who aren’t millionaires.

in my opinion 115-125 is optimal, anything higher and you are either too autistic or are wasting your talents when you could be the next isaac newton.

I've met and worked with extremely high iq individuals as you probably have too and from my view they usually lack the ability to connect with normies and form networking skills that are so crucial to making the big bucks.

While high IQ is one factor, albeit the most significant significant one, it is often misunderstood.
Contrary to popular belief, a high IQ correlates with several desirable personality traits and can even act as a protective layer against neuroticism. However, its predictive value decreases at the individual level.

I had my IQ professionally tested and scored 116.
In theory, this should be sufficient for me to perform well academically and achieve financial success.
Yet at 25, I find myself failing college, plagued by rumination, extreme laziness, lack of motivation, anxiety, depression, and ADHD.

Of course high-IQ individuals generally tend to earn more money, as their superior general intelligence allows them to learn skills, even ones only marginally related to abstract thinking more quickly than their peers.
The concept of intelligences or distinct talents often serves as a convenient excuse. It’s a cope made by normies.

Ultimately though, personality traits determine how effectively one uses their intellectual ability.

How the fuck does that even matter?
