What is the relation of (missing) teeth and bigonial width?

So growing up my dentist extracted a lot of teeth in my lower jaw, currently im missing 2 premolars and 4 molars and my 2 molars have been pulled forward in the place of my extracted premolars (i’m also missing 2 teeth on my upper jaw but my upper jaw is decent). I have an overbite which I’m probably getting surgery for already (my ortho said it was possible), but my bigonial is fucked.

Was this caused by missing my teeth and can i do anything about it? Im 19 currently.

They’re not. I got elastics for my overbite and it made my cheekbones and jaw more prominent after I fixed the overbite with elastics and braces.

How would elastics give you more prominent cheekbones? Because they could only pull the upper jaw backwards.

I don't think they do elastics moved my jaw forward. I already have a good jaw to begin with.

Well yeah but then elastics aren’t the reason for your prominent cheekbones, they shouldn’t affect them in any positive way.
