I have no personal experience but Arabs and Europeans aren't genetically super far apart so that's conceivable but it definitely depends on the admixture. Would you really group together all Southern Italians with Arabs?

Fair enough on phenotype because again, I have no experience, and based on some Google searches a lot of them do look like they could pass as Arabs, or at least Levantines. But ethnically they still have mostly European ancestry.
