It's war. Life is war.
You have to battle against the will of every other man, who quite literally has it in his instincts to destroy you for his own personal gain.
Then, you have to battle against your own mind, who wants to avoid every sort of pain, but simultaneously demands that you have all the resources, all the attention from women, all the fame, all the power and control, all things that require you to endure much pain to get them.
So you're fucked. You have to fight against every other man, AND yourself. It's warfare.
It means you can't be weak. There's no room for it. Every friend is half enemy, even your own mind is half against you half for you.
The world is therefore, half good, half evil.
And you have to be the same.
Don't be too evil, or you neglect the side of you that wants compassion for the tribe, your friend, your family, your fellow man.
Don't be too good, lest you be considered weak, and be destroyed by those who want to rise to power, and see opportunities in your kindness, which they percieve as weakness.
Wisdom is "the ability to discern whether one should serve his instinct to immediately wage war and violence, or his instinct to have compassion".
Be ye therefore capable to wage war, and choose to do good. But upon him that wishes evil upon you, you shall wage your war.
The goal is not to be bitter, hateful, or a tyrant. It is not to hold power and use it against those beneath you. The goal is, ultimately, peace, love, and kindness with a tribe. But you have to have great capability for warfare and destruction.
That should be your character, a good man, a dangerous man, a powerful man, but not a tyrant.
You can do all of this.
You can be whatever you want.
