What makes cheekbones look more defined in side?

in my side profile u can tell my cheekbones are slightly projected with a line under them, but this isn’t noticeable from the front. Does anyone know why or what?

Well yeah they r visible when I do that but my cheekbones from the side always have a shadow unlike my front
