Drop some band names.Metal, rock, synthwave, chillwave
Synthwave: Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, DynatronDrop some band names.
youd probably like Rush, they cover all those genres
What about bands like Northlane or Parkway Drive or Misery Signals?Metal: Periphery, Tesseract, Trivium, Opeth
modern/progressive metalcore? Yeah I like Northlane and Misery Signals. Parkway Drive are very 2000s metalcore, never got into them back in their peak when I was listening to a lot of that stuff. My favorite modern metalcore bands are Invent Animate and Erra. What about bands like Northlane or Parkway Drive or Misery Signals?
Mirin, low-key expected you not to know any of the bands I mentioned. Yeah I got into Parkway Drive in 2009, Northlane in 2013 and Misery Signals in 2019 but it became my most-listened to metalcore band. Personally, I think Misery Signals' second vocalist had the sickest voice in the genre, but that's just my personal opinion. I've heard of Invent Animate and Erra but never listened to them. I assume you also know about Dance Gavin Dance then? Kind of different from the rest as it's post-hardcore.modern/progressive metalcore? Yeah I like Northlane and Misery Signals. her new music is lowk ass, you know any other artists that sound like her?I knew her before Elon Musk nutted in her. Thanks to /mu/.
Honestly I don't, I thought she sounded unique. Perhaps try a different genre like dream pop? Try the band Beach House.her new music is lowk ass, you know any other artists that sound like her?

haha yeah I know, finding people who listen to metal is rare, finding people who listen to modern non-boomer metal is super rare. I like DGD, they're progressive post-hardcore. I listened to some emo/post-hardcore when I was a teen so it's cool to hear a "modern and evolved" version of it. I've only really listened Tillian's era though, I didn't grow up with the band so I don't have a special emotional connection to the early albums like a lot of fans do. I should listen to Downtown Battle Mountain though, everyone says it's one of their best.Mirin, low-key expected you not to know any of the bands I mentioned. Fucking hell, man. Talk about a coincidence! I assume you already know Cocteau Twins then?beach house is my most listened to artist...
yeah i do! but i dont listen to them much, but sea swallow me is goodFucking hell, man. Talk about a coincidence! I assume you already know Cocteau Twins then?
Giga based for knowing about DGD but what the hell man you haven't listened to DBM?! It's absolutely legendary. Jonny Craig era is the best DGD era if you ask me. I actually saw them live during the European leg of their 10 year anniversary tour in the late 2010s. The thing about Jonny's era is that his vocals are out of this world. Back in 2006/2007, post-hardcore bands or just bands in the scene never had an emphasis on singing well, but Jonny/DGD changed that. They made sure the vocals were soulful, so they were truly one of a kind at the time. Now everyone's copying their style but nobody has done it better than Jonny if you ask me. Tilian's era is nice too but mogged by Jonny's era. Speaking of Tilian, I used to be in a FB group and his mom was in there as well, sometimes I'd talk to her jfl.haha yeah I know, finding people who listen to metal is rare, finding people who listen to modern non-boomer metal is super rare. I only listened to their 1990 album. Ok, let's see what else I might recommend.... eh..... LSD and the Search For God. I personally liked their song "I Don't Care" a lot. Not sure if you will, but give it a try.yeah i do! but i dont listen to them much, but sea swallow me is good

Yeah I know, the weird thing is I listened to a lot of post-hardcore as a kid back when the genre was its peak, like FFTL, Alesana, Silverstein, Underoath, Alexisonfire etc., moved on when the emo era ended and I grew up, and then I discovered DGD around 2017. And I thought they were some modern 2010s thing, I was surprised to find out about Craig's era, that they were formed in the 2000s and were part of that era too. I never saw them discussed in those myspace scene circles alongside the other bands I mentioned so dunno how I missed them then. But yeah I've been meaning to go through their whole pre-Tilian discography for a while, I'll check out DBM soon. A lot of fans say that Tilian's vocals, while good, get mogged by Craig's so I'm curious.Giga based for knowing about DGD but what the hell man you haven't listened to DBM?! Then im relistening to this because im gonna see them live
The reason why those bands you listed were discussed on Myspace unlike DGD is because DGD was an obscure band back then, whereas those bands were all mainstream to some degree. Let me know what you think of DBM! I'm also curious what you think of Jonny's vocals. I would hang out with my brother's college friends (most were guys, one was a chick) and I'd just blast DBM in the car, even though none of these people listened to that kinda music, all they listened to was rap, but they all could tell Jonny had some pipes, hence why they didn't mind as much, despite the screaming.Yeah I know, the weird thing is I listened to a lot of post-hardcore as a kid back when the genre was its peak, like FFTL, Alesana, Silverstein, Underoath, Alexisonfire etc., moved on when the emo era ended and I grew up, and then I discovered DGD around 2017.
