Would a trimax increase total mandible length? (mandible body + ramus)
I know that ramus needs an implant but what about the mandible body?
If someone is recessed, has a 6cm ramus and a 9cm mandible body, that would equal 15cm.
The average mandible length is 17-19cm.

Would someone in this case benefit from a trimax to increase the mandible length?
or would it necessarily need to be done by implants

Pretty sure a bimax or trimax will increase the mandible length (it moves the jaws forwards). It wont lengthen the ramus, but it can make it seem more defined as the skin is stretched other the longer mandible.

right it moves the jaws forwards, by adding bone because obviously it's fixated with screws, does the amount the mandible length will be made longer determined by the amount of forward growth (for example 6mm BSSO). Or would it be more than 6mm, well 12mm in total because 6mm on both sides?

No idea tbh. I always just assumed how they determine how far forwards they will bring it is done by taking a side view of the skull, then seeing how much they can bring the jaws forwards, rather than using a tape measure around someones mandible which seems highly inaccurate.
