My facial thirds are all about the same. But to achieve facial harmony I need my lower third to be longer. I am not bothered by my overbite. My main concern is my short lower third.

I would appreciate some thoughts.
I am relatively new and doing research right now.
I have consultations scheduled with Zarrinbal and Ramieri.

Do you want your hyoid bone further back? Chin more forward? Tell us more

I want to increase the length of my lower third by about 6-8mm. That is basically it.
I had a nose job 2 years ago to „just make it straight“ but the surgeon created an entirely different nose. As a result my philtrum decreased in length by 3mm or so. Now my face looks less harmonic. The nose itself looks good but it does not fit into my face. I have to adjust my lower third to make everything more harmonic.I have a shortish face now…

Bsso probably will help you, it will also help you to fix overbite + you can get genioplasty with vertical advancement as well.

Won‘t genioplasty make everything appear more pointy and narrow?

Custom jaw implants seems ideal. Also your overall mandible length isn’t bad you just need to fix the overbite.

Unfortunately, mewing makes the lower third appear shorter, because as your maxilla moves up, so does your mandible. It's still worth it, because everything else improves

If the hyoid bone moves like you said you thought it did it should appear longer.

From the side yes, it moves forward and chin appear longer, while your submental area becomes tighter and sticks more to the top (reducing the saggy look). But the chin height from the front appears shorter

Do you mean that it will look like the chin will be further back or that it will be shorter in height? I didn't read whatever op asked

Mewing will basically improve op like the morph (not exactly like that, maybe better depending on his anatomy), but from the front view the chin height will appear shorter.

But it will look better despite looking shorter right?

Lengthen your chin/maxilla with surgery. There is no other evidence of anything else lengthening your face after a certain point.

You can only get downgrafting of the maxilla anteriorly if you lack tooth show otherwise you will have a gummy smile if you get it done with normal vertical growth.

You can also get vertical genioplasty to lengthen the chin which will help with lower third height.
