No. The term super model was created by the media not the designers. It was in the best interest of the designers to have no one know the names of their models so their could suppress wages. It was the people in the media that came up with the word supermodel to describe models like Janice Dickinson, Twiggy and Cheryl Tiggs who had establish name recognition and could thus command higher modeling fees.
