rake it through ur hair from bottom to top thats what i do

my hair is a bit shorter to rake, and when i try to apply it it messes up my curls
Grow it out first. If you have hair that's 3A or more, it needs to be long enough to come to the tip of your nose (when stretched) for you to look good with curls

how do i try that? thats what i am asking
Try using a little less leave in conditioner and use mouse along with it
Mousse is supposed to add more volume to curly hair.
Apply it after the leave-in on slightly wet hair.

Let in air dry for about an hour or so and blowdry with cold air later.

Experiment with different quantities and time for drying it

I personally don't pat dry my hair before using leave in. I apply it directly after shower.

So try doing that and experiment with doing less fingercoiling. Fingercoiling will obviously make your curls tighter and therefore give less volume.

You need to experiment. It took me around 6-7 months (not larp) to figure out what routine works for my curls hair and at what length it needs to be.

I apply it in a "middle to left/right edge" motion.
Couldn't have worded it better

I separate my hair halfway through my head in a straight line (from front to back) and for each side, apply cream from the middle partition to the outer side.

My curls aren't the most defined with this method, but it gives me wayy more volume and it overall suits my face better

but what if i am going to shool and need it to become voluminous? imitate wind by blow drying?
Fluff your hair with your fingers

Get your fingers in between your hair and the scalp. In a calm way, try to gently lift of the hair from your scalp
