Easiest way to explain Dollar Cost Averaging (DCAing) is for me to give you an example:

I have $5,000 to invest, rather than immediately putting the $5,000 into a particular share or an index fund, I will invest a set amount at a set interval to avoid short-term volatility (which we will experience relatively more in the coming months due to Trump's second term approaching as aforementioned).
So I could invest $1,000 every month instead so that I'm not going all-in when the price of said share or index fund is at a short-term high which would leave me in the red relatively more than if I was to DCA.

Just slowly put your money in rather than immediately putting all of it in basically.
