What to expect from BSSO?

Getting BSSO in a year after invisalign to correct class 2 malocclusion. My surgeon said my upper jaw is good so only lower jaw movement is necessary. What sort of aesthetic results can I expect from BSSO alone? Will it have a noticeable impact on the width of my mandible or lower third height? Will it change my front view? Will it tighten my skin and decrease facial bloat? Submental region? Morphs, opinions, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chin slightly more forward. BSSO is more a medical surgery than a cosmetic one

So I should just get genio instead? I initially went to my consult just asking for genio, but he recommended BSSO for a more complete result.

No still get BSSO, your mandible is recessed. If you're not pleased with that result get genio or implants.
If i may ask, are you high bf% cause it looks like it in the pic

No, just recessed. I’m 5’10 170 pounds and gymcelled. It is my hope that mandibular advancement will clean up the submental bloat.

It might help, if that fails my suggestions are.
First debloat max, dont eat alot for x time.
Potassium intake should be higher than sodium/salt
Lots of green tea, dandelion tea and matcha if that fails after a few weeks
Buccal fat removal, some people can have fattish cheeks at low BF because of fat storing genes

Great advice. Thanks 👍. Will definitely look into those things. Apprehensive about cutting too much weight because I don’t want to look like an emasciated framecel, but I also don’t want to be a bloated mess.

Looks much more human. Do you think genio would be necessary on top of BSSO, or would BSSO alone suffice?

How much advancement are you getting? Surely your advancement is limited by your upper jaw.

Some of my lower teeth will be filed down on the sides in order to make space for them to be pulled backwards through invisalign. My surgeon and orthodontist said this will allow for greater movement in pulling my lower jaw forward. I am unsure of the exact advancement.

Who was the orthos that did this? Do you know name of technique? How did it end up going?
