Many acne scars are there and stay there because they are attached and held down by fibrous bands, with a subcision we will cut these bands to stop the scar from being pulled down, this will allow the scar to be lifted up and be more normal, and I believe it stimulates a lot of collagen production too (similar to derma rolling/microneedling) to accelerate healing.
