My logic for why I preferred getting told I look like a rapist/murderer than getting told "ew":

I know I have good looks. Telling me I look like a rapist/murderer is such an absurdly false insult, I can let it roll right off my back.

"Ew," on the other hand, was an assessment of my inner qualities
