Humans have enough morals to understand killing is bad and so is child marriage etc, so I dont anything wrong with a world with no religion. I think that we would be way ahead technologically as well as physically, we would have new heights for potential for the human race. What are your thoughts though?

Religion heavily impacts political decisions , sometimes for the worse or for the better , so the world would definitely be different

Do you think if there were no religions whatsoever then there would be little to very small bias when making desisions at a higher level? like politics you mentioned. The only thing separating us would be race. Another possibility could be an increase in LGBTQ, but I dont think it would lead us towards a decline.

“humans have enough morals” assumes that morality is some built-in, self-evident trait, when in reality, most moral frameworks we take for granted were shaped by religious foundations over centuries.

without religion, what defines “wrong”? evolutionary survival? majority opinion? utilitarian outcome? why is child marriage bad in a species that evolved to reproduce young? why is killing wrong in a world where the strong eating the weak is natural?

your argument quietly borrows values from systems that religion embedded into culture for millennia, then imagines you could remove religion and keep the values intact. that’s like cutting the roots off a tree and thinking it’ll keep growing.

technology might accelerate without religion. but “should we do something?” isn’t a technical question, it’s a moral one. and without a transcendent anchor, moral lines become negotiable. you don’t get morality for free just because you deleted the bible.

Basic morality would be the main culprit of decisions , but that’s why religions here , because it provides the morality from its books , but many disagree with it

Before major abrahamic religions, Europe was pagan, and the Middle East worshipped idols, baal and moloch.

There would definitely still be human sacrifices going on. I think that were in a better place because of Abrahamic religions, even though I don’t agree with them.

Redditors also believe that “ A world without religion would be driven by science and knowledge.” Which I disagree

take away the paganism, consider it as a religion. What do you think then?

Good point, so you think we are better off with religion? I understand if you think that.

You can argue that some religions(not gonna do name calling) agree with non moral acts such as child marriage. But a question that arises after this is that have specific groups(religions) within the human race defined what is or isn't moral? I mean as I have mentioned some religions are fine with child marriage, to them this act is moral, but to someone like you or me we would be disgusted. So would we really need religion to keep what we (most of us) think of morality, stable, or religion is still needed, but not all religions can be accepted?

kinda low iq tbh, all humans are mortal and will die. the inability to prepare for the afterlife where you will spend eternity will lead to pretty bad consequences. stop being so concerned with just your flesh, it is not coming with you to the afterlife, so of course it doesn’t care what choices are made by you or that it influences. also I’m not saying this to push one particular religion on you, but rather get you to recognize that this approach to the world is extremely prideful, there is definitely more to life than what you think

You'd be suprised actually. Morality was religion and You can't really have it without religion because it will keep changing based on the current regime.
