Let's say that you get really lucky at the lottery and win a huge amount of money, something like $100 million. You can't get the prize anonymously and you don't trust someone else to do it for you, so you immediately become famous and everyone knows you are now rich.
From an average Joe you are now one of the wealthiest persons in your city and all the people seek you out. Old friends, relatives, ex-classmates, and other people you haven't seen in years immediately contact you and want to see you. Some of them ask directly for money, they say it's for a medical procedure, or claim they are in debt and will lose their house, some say they want to open a business and if you borrow them, you will get a huge chunk of the profit, etc. Some don't ask for anything, but they invite you to their house for dinner, a party or a gathering. You start getting random messages from girls who say they find you cute and want to meet you(some even send you nude photos). You even receive invitations from the most powerful people in the city, like the mayor, the chief of police, local politicians and religious leaders - they want you to come to various charity balls, official events and ceremonies.
Reporters come to your house, they film you and make you even more famous. Random people start to come to your residence and ask you for money. They start to sleep outside your house and wait for you to come out. Some of them bring sick people in wheelchairs, or carry babies in their arms and when you get out, they immediately surround you, begging, while the reporters are there to film your reaction.
