Most ppl can’t tell I haven’t been born in those countries and nobody would be able to tell where I’m from listening to me speak any language

That's just immersion though, immersion works but jfl at "muhh active immersion muhh no subs" copers. No ones watching anime with no subs day 1 for hours a day to get fluent before quiting

But the fundemental idea that immersion and understanding is most important is true.

Cause you can't really have a conversation if you don't understand the response of the other person, no matter how many phrases you memorized to speak

Exactly, but how to go about that the fastest & easiest way does matter. You'll see hundreds of these guys not being able speak properly after like a year to multiple years of doing ts when really it only takes a year MAX to become fluent but most of the time 6 months to hold regular conversations close to native level, and my modified way is not as boring or tedious as traditional immersion methods are
