I've seen alot of people on social media claiming that when you're low body fat (6%-11%), you will be miserable and have no energy.
There are also alot of studies going around the internet claiming of women prefering a guy with 20% bf (58%, healthy)
But I don't really believe this...
Firstly if we focus on the face, if you have good features people wont be able to see them if they are hiding behind fat, most people start to see hollow cheeks at 12%-15% bf but only if they have the bone structure for it and dont have weird fat distribution like extremely chubby cheeks
So facial features like jawline cheekbones get more promiment with lower and lower bf, giving you better angularity/dimo
Now let's talk about the physique aspect of body fat.
If you're higher bf your physique just looks blurred, even if you lift you just look big/soft and not aesthetic
Less amount of muscle better physique
When you get leaner the waist tightens and everything starts to show, shoulders look wider, arms/chest get separation and you actually look like you go to the gym
This is why lean physiques always mogs, because its the same body but finally visible
I also dont buy the "low bf = miserable" thing because in my experience the lower bf I got the better I felt, more energy more confidence just felt cleaner overall
So this 20% bf preference stuff just sounds like cope/propaganda for people who cant stop eating and want to justify not being able to control themselfes
