What's the down sides of braces?

I'm getting (rubber band) braces in about 3 days time. It's to help close the gaps in my teeth and get rid of my overjet. Will this recess me and or limit bone growth in general? Should I ask for a marpe even though it's not recommended? Give me real answer please with real reasoning. I'm 15m and I know this is around the peak time of my development and I don't want to make mistakes.

We need to see what the case is, it would be easier if its bad, to do Djs and then wear braces, not work around the Djs and then decide to. do it.

theoretically it could recess you
just don’t get anything extracted, if you have a overjet but your jaw alignment is fine i’d say invisalign is better

I don't plan on getting anything extracted, I've read too much on why that's a bad idea to fall victim to that
