Whats the point of eating alot of saturated fat for hormones when cholesterol builds them?

Alot of people are surprised when they find out fish actually has alot of cholesterol when compared to its fat content.

Lets take sardines for example, 100grams of sardines has about 10 grams of fat and 150mg of cholesterol. Compare it to butter which has 200mg of cholesterol/100g.

If mainstream nutrition views saturated fat intake bad in excess, how would they react to a low/moderate fat but high cholesterol diet? Afterall low cholesterol is linked to increase in all-cause mortality

Any nutritioncels? @BrahminBoss

Saturated fat is simple single bond molecule. Cholesterol is a complex three ringed molecule. Saturated fat has benefits on its own such as stearic acid which can modulate gut bacteria beneficially and can reduce belly fat by upto 70 percent, Lauric acid which raises metabolism , etc. Saturated fat also does not causes toxic byproducts when burnt for energy and can help modulate the cytoplasm to be more lipophilic which leads to a better structured mitochondria and cellular processes. The organisms saturated to unsaturated fatty acid ratio is the single greatest predictor of longevity

So saturated fat has the possibility to contribute to better hormonal profile indirectly through fat loss? But dietary cholesterol is still the main driver and ingredient of hormone production?

Thyroid is the main driver and ingredient of hormone production . You can get 36 eggs but if you don’t have thyroid you won’t be using it to create steroids and it’ll get excreted. Cholesterol on its own does have anti inflammatory benefits tho and it is actually helping atherosclerosis patients

But there has been arguments that for example carnivore diets result in low T3 values over time due to carbohydrate restriction/excess protein right? So saturated fat is clearly not as important for robust thyroid function as carbs and the RATIO of fatty acids, not the amount are?

Saturated fats block the harmful effects of PUFA so in that fashion they can allow higher thyroid transport into the cell. PUFA reduces sensitivity to thyroid hormone. It’s why some carnivores seem to do ok with that diet as their PUFA stores MAY have gone down, but most carnivores don’t have access to high quality meat so they are actually nukinh their thyroid. High quality fresh meat also has higher carbohydrate than store bought processed meat

Which amount of Saturated Fat would you recommend?
