Seeing ones face after surgery I feel there will always be this strange feeling that you don't like it. You're not used to it. It's on them though. You NEED to go full sperg on every little detail before you drop $50k that's crazy.

The main problem is that jaw surgery is primarily NOT an aesthetic surgery. It is a functional surgery.

Obviously it CAN improve your looks, but orthognathic surgeons are simply correcting the occlusion of your jaws. They (by definition) aren’t plastic surgeons. If you have an overbite, for example, by having that corrected, you aren’t automatically going to become a chad just because you had your deformity corrected.

Most jaw surgeons are going to focus on correcting functional deformities while causing as little negative side effects as possible. Any positive aesthetic improvements are just a bonus.
