Truly. I assume that we have the same definition of euthanasia, to clear semantics.

There lies the problem of laws and its philosophical reasoning of rationality behind it, e.g. where do you draw the line of where live begins and where it ends like in the problem of abortion rights. In this case, where life should end or should be assisted to end.
Another problem is that the laws, more generally the whole state, is the oppressing tool of the ruling class. Assuring minimal civility and concessions to avoid revolution but keep the opressed class on their foot enough to profit a lot from their exploitation (bank bailouts, austerity, wars, central banks steering monetary system, guaranteeing the private property rights of the capitalist class).
Death penalty has been used on many relevant revolutionary personas or other people who knew too much; injecting someone with a cocktail of drugs and deem him not worthy to live anymore, approved by "trusted medical experts". It will just become another niche tool to defend the status quo.

If you're too retarded to kill yourself right while able-bodied, we shouldn't have to provide for you. So no to able bodied adults.
No to children because that's just stupid to let edgy teens kill themselves. For the rest (Diseased/Severely in pain), they have to be non-psychological illnesses. While they could still be faked, it would be significantly more difficult on the patients end as well as for bad acting doctors.

In regards to people being 65+, age is also a bad metric to determine if someone deserves the right to kill themselves.
While they have more than enough resources to commit suicide on their own if they lived that long and planned their life long, there is also the problem of mental deterioration over time which may cloud their judgement. While this could be used as a justification to help oldfags kill themselves (who wants to me a mentalcel & oldcel at the same time?), this also allows another avenue for elder abuse by bad relatives.

Making it forbidden altogether is also retarded. Unless you want to come from a religious standpoint (You cannot commit suicide within Islam for example), there is no reason to forbid it entirely. People will simply seek less effective methods of suicide.

I for one would be a lot better off if I died instead of botching my own suicide.
