sylvester stallone duplicate him chin width (and some projection) in their 20s (or 30) with hgh

18-19 maxilla and jaw and 21-22 browridge and chin. I read that somewhere

Growth tapers off at 19 for the maxilla and 25 for the mandible in males and 15 and 20 for females respectively. When I say "taper off" I mean year-by-year increments are less noticeable than before but growth never truly stops.

Do you agree with John Mew on that significant bone changes can only be achieved when under 25?

Yes kinda, but I think it just takes a longer increment of time over 25. Probably not monetarily or time-wise feasible for an orthotropist or someone suffering from bad occlusion or airway issues though, at that point it should just be something you embark on your own time.

Orthotropics is best done under the age of 8, you'll have a nice stable result achieved in minimal time (often less than a year), anything after that is progressively more difficult and takes a longer time to see change.

How much change do you think mewing can do from 20 to 25? Assuming one is super consistent with it. And thanks for your insightful replies.

Astrosky made insane changes from 20 to 24, but it make me wonder, is he just an outlier or did he just put a lot more focus into it than the average mewer.

Always happy to help in any way I can. My research on this tells me that you can get up to 1mm per year of change from 18-25 in the maxilla, but most of this will be in the alveolar bone (Lefort 1 area) and only a fraction will be in the under-eye, cheek, and nose area (there will still be a somewhat noticeable change). This alveolar bone movement is still important because it frees the mandible to swing up and move forward. The best way to get larger changes in the cheek, eyes and nose area seem to be playing with the sutures up there, which I am still doing research on because the sutural growth that happens there after 9 is much smaller compared to the increments before the age of 9. Intermittent forces like chewing and swallowing acting on the maxilla will act on those sutures there and a longer term pressure like mewing with your teeth in gentle contact can provide a movement vector of those areas. Not completely sure though, got to look into it more.

Things like MSE+FM tend to fracture the suture and use a constant FM force which is inefficient at sutural change in older patients and fails to move the basal maxilla in an upwards direction as well (This leads to a more supported nose tip, more horizontally compact orbitals, and perhaps higher position of the cheekbones). There needs to be some way to soften the sutures (rather than fracturing) and then use intermittent force to move the basal maxilla in that forward and upwards such that there is simultaneous bone deposition and resorption in the suture sites.

After 25 this number reduces to a max of 0.5-0.75mm a year, well within the range of statistical error so it is harder to measure progress yearly.
