I doubt they'd allow us to have it. CRISPR already exists.
If anything, governments would suppress it since no one wants to deal with 150+iq superhumans, especially as foreign enemies.

CRISPR is extremely new and untested. Besides even if they can switch individual genes our current scientists couldn’t point out which exact genes to change to cause a desirable physical change. We’re not there yet.

Also, the world is becoming increasingly libertarian, with crypto currencies and all… I don’t think the government will have a say in whether or not people want to spend their money improving their kids genes.

Genes change your looks and your personality and behavior, its not as if people will only be changing looks so that everyone can look good (in which case its over for all non white genes) but they will also change behavior and things like intelligence. People will want to give genetic blueprints for things like high intelligence, good work ethic, good memory, etc., once that happens its over for humanity
