nah, more like what they didn't do. they gave me headger to push my lower maxilla forward and fix underbite and then braces but those didn't evolve extractions nor elastics so im good. The problem is that no one told me to mew (even though i was a nose breather my tongue was always down prob bc i wasn't breastfed). This led to a quite recessed upper maxilla

decent palate. all teeth fit perfectly including wisdom teeth. just bad upper maxilla. both upper and lower jaw r forward grown though.

Orthotropics is just child based orthopedics through a mix of reverse pull headgear and functional appliance with forward growth based ideology through the 3 stages of the biobloc appliance, a modified functional appliance, with the exception that it doesn't cause downward growth unlike the other functional appliances,
Twin block, reverse twin block, frankl, etc etc.

The downward growth, proven by an increase in gonial angial, clockwise rotation of maxilla and mandible is due to the appliances not allowing full biting down of the teeth is the same reason I told @nelson that his appliance has some flaws.

The three stages of biobloc orthotropics: Expansion, incisor proclination(the ugly duckling stage) further worsening the overjet and overjet correction through habitual forced closing of the mouth by those flanges sunken in the inner portion of the mandible.

Orthotropics will never work in adults, may get get some results, but it will never be skeletal expansion as some people think, I doubt there is as much as 10mm expansion as John would like to think in children, but with his method of incisor proclination and growth guidance, yes he does achieve 10mm of dentoalveolar and some skeletal movement, very evident from the nice transformation photos of a VERY SELECT FEW, the same faces we always get to see.

You see orthotropics has a very low success rate, maybe less than 30% to obtain an optimal result, this is due to the fact that for some individuals posture just never be corrected, or the behavior cannot be sustained. But to those who start early with the right willingness yes, orthotropics beats orthodontics when started early by 10x.

Orthotropics is nothing new. It is child orthopedics with forward growth ideology. For adults honestly MSE the best thing we have available to at least widen the palate and improve sleep apnea, something functional which should come first.

I will continue in another post why orthodontics is not as bad as people think for SOME cases and why it ruins faces for others, unfortunately like myself

I remember when I was a kid they installed a biobloc to me in a public (state-owned) dental clinic. It was a bit painful and I was a dumb kid so I stopped wearing it. If only I were blackpilled earlier I'd never took that thing off...
