Where did the idea that looking like a woman is appeal come from?

I swear I see people pushing these giga effeminate men saying shit like "this is what women REALLY want" or the retarded overused"PSL vs Appeal" phrase and... How? I've literally never seen this be the case (Dating app experiments, personal experience, real life media, etc).

Yeah it's not to say there isn't a demographic for it. I think people have the notion that this niche attracts higher quality girls but even then I don't think that's the case at all.
