doesn't satisfy me even if true

how exactly to 1s and 0s convert into warm air? i'm assuming there is some sort of a scraper(in absence of a better word) of some kind next to the disk that turns on when you delete something and scrapes those digits from the disk, so friction creates heat

Images

Those are information not matter

they are basically just hidden from memory until you have new files which will overrite the deleted ones, so technically if you delete a pic and dont make too much change on your computer, there a way to restore it.
On the other hand, if its a old ass pic, it probably will be a corrupted image with time..

i dont think information have the same law of physics as energy does

The basics behind computing and network science is really simple.
Study it for a bit and you'll have your answer among more.

i assumed it had properties of matter, which would have to get transformed or converted to energy for it to be "deleted"

i'm not offended, it's not a shame to ask questions
It's a shame to ask retarted question

There is a difference between being curious and being dumb

the dumbest questions are usually the deepest

and i can't help but notice that no one who called me a retard hasn't even attempted answering the question

Go back to school..... your autodidacticism isn't helping you

I hope you are not one of those guys who think they are too smart for college

you shouldnt ask these questions if you dont even know how a transistor works.

how does introducing transistors help with this issue? this reminds me of theologians constantly adding new pseudo-variables to the picture when they get caught as charlatans
