You are black, your origins are from the south. Black American culture has roots in the Southern U.S. because of slavery. Enslaved Africans were usually bought to the Southern U.S and later after the great migration spread to the North and west. African. Ebonics is derived fron southern slang. Even music like blues, gospel and jazz. Food like fried chicken,cornbread etc and many things associated with black culture was originally from from the south. Blacks are literally the reflection of old southern white people.

I’m not Soulaan (African American with ancestry linking to chattel slavery). None of my families come from slavery either (Both of my families were wealthy and intelligent in Africa with lots of land).

I love the BLACK Southern parts of America. After all, they’re a big contribution to the culture. I’m disappointed you even assumed that; I’m for everything Black.

When I mean I hate the dirty south I mean the White ConfederateLovers that are the reason for the shithole condition its in rn.

Almost all Africans that came during the Transatlantic Slave Trade are Soulaans. If your family came after 1870s then you are not a Black American. You are just multi generational African immigrant. Black Americans are an oppressed group who were forcefully brought to the U.S while your family willingly moved to the US, not too different from those Chinese or Mexican immigrants that willingly moved to the U.S to build the railroad around the same time
