Which is more important: Hairline, or equal facial thirds?

If I comb my front hair up, my hair looks fuller, but this exposes my forehead which is a little bit long.

If I comb it downwards, I'm able to make the upper third equal to the mid third, but a bit of hair recession would appear on the side.

Which is the better thing to do?
