White people are too virtuous sometimes

Coming from an Asian person, I realize that White people are too virtuous sometimes. White people are by-in-large, the only racial group that seeks to somewhat help the out group. White liberals will go out of the way to demean themselves for being White, in an effort to try to uphold colorblind anti-racist virtues. I feel bad in a way even though I am a pro-Asian person. I don’t feel like we deserve this sort of generosity from White liberals, even though we haven’t really reciprocated anything back to them. I know they mean well, but I can’t help but feel that they need to regain self-confidence as White people. I’m not saying to go out there and be a White supremacist or an actual racist, but have some in-group preference. You don’t need to always be an ally or go out of your way to help minorities that are going to dislike you regardless.

The other extreme of thinking White people are superior isn’t good either, but I think more Whites need to accept themselves for who they are. Not to say other groups throughout history haven’t contributed, but Whites have created some of the most essential inventions such as the airplane, radio, etc. Whites should be proud that their people have accomplished great things. Similar to how I’m proud of my Asian ancestors for some of the great things they’ve accomplished. I’ve taken a more middle ground approach when it comes to race issues in the sense that, I think it’s perfectly normal and healthy for you to take care of your own tribe first, but still appreciate other people’s culture (and not believe one group is inherently superior to the other). In short, I believe in being proud of oneself (which includes a racial competent), without hating other racial groups.
