I used to be really fair (milk white) till Class 8. Then one so-called friend made me stay out in the sun every day while he stayed in the shade. My skin started burning and tanning badly — and I didn’t use sunscreen back then.

Later, he even told me he did it because he was jealous in general. I didn’t think much at the time, but now I realize how much it affected me.

I’m 18–19 now, still tanned, and finally taking skincare seriously — Kojic soap, sunscreen daily, and improving my diet.

Is it actually possible to reverse this kind of deep, long-term tanning and get back to my natural skin tone? Anyone here been through the same?

Yes, and yes. Something similar happened to me, I'm a phototype 2, almost 1, and I didn't wear sunscreen for most of my life, so my face and my arms were really tanned and I was literally 2 different shades. I started using sunscreen along with kojic acid, niacinamide and retinol a year ago and now my natural skin colour is back

you get your natural skin colour at age 11-12. children have low melanin to absorb vit d.

Did you get it? Dalit
