The SCP Foundation is a fictional universe where all the weird, paranormal stuff —monsters, cursed objects, magic, paranormal locations —actually exists, but it’s all being kept secret by numerous clandestine bodies with agendas of their own that engage in shadow wars between one another.

The main group in this universe is the SCP Foundation: a global, secret organization with endless resources that answers to no one. Their job is to secure any anomalies they find, contain them in their many sites across the world, and protect humanity from them. Its a lot like Men in Black, but darker, more brutal, and with way more ethical grey areas. For example, they kidnap prisoners (D-Class) for use as test subjects.

They’re not the only ones. There are other shady groups with different motives—some want to protect humanity like the United Nations led GOC. The Foundation sees itself as a necessary evil keeping the world from falling apart, and they're right.

Originally, SCP started as a collaborative writing project online. The stories are written like classified documents, often about specific anomalies (each one has a number, like SCP-173 or SCP-096), and the tone can be clinical and creepy. Over time, it blew up—now there's YouTube slop channels and fan works and books and games (SCP 5K for one).

There's all kinds of things on the actual site: cosmic horror, action, etc. Plus, there's pretty good quality control as becoming a writer for their little group requires you to jump through hoops, so most of them are pretty good. Series 1 (SCPs 001-999) is the most famous and popular and contains the most iconic SCPs. If you're interested, here's the link to the wiki: Main page
