The 33 year old Indians origin democratic socialist who won in the June 24 Democratic primary via ranked choice voting. edging out Cuomo. Mamdani's main emphasis is affordable housing, universal childcare, and police reform. He is currently the leading with ~50% support.

Independent Cuomo

He is entering as an independent after a narrow loss. He also has sexual harassment allegations and has been condemned for his COVID nursing home policies. His campaign was mainly about on fiscal discipline and public safety. Around ~30% support according to polls

Republican Contender:Curtis Sliwa

Guardian Angels founder Sliwa. Also a 2021 nominee returns with a law andorder message, criticizing soft on crime policies and migrant strains on city resources. As NYC's registered Democrats outnumber Republicans 6-to-1. Tbf he is unlikely to win and he polls at ~19%
