They still have wide shoulders and big arms. Similar to a powerlifter physique.

Although being lean is obviously far more aesthetic. These guys are just a single cut away from getting mogger physiques anyway.

From a biological and evolutionarily aspect, this is the ideal body since storing some additional fat means you are more likely to survive an event which will cripple your body such as a famine, illness that makes you bedridden or an injury. Your body will first burn the reserve fat and not chip away muscle mass. When you are already lean and have barely any bodyfat it straight starts consuming muscle mass.

it's just that the current society we live in provides us with safety and proper nutrition so the bar for body aesthetics is quite high, and obviously you have to play by the current rules if you want to succeed. (Be lean and also high muscle mass at the same time for maximum aesthetics)
