I really think they have some short coming that prevents them from distinguishing between the concepts of absolute and relative. In the case here they are reacting only to the relative proportion of the hip to waist to breast ratio, seemingly without any ability to discern that the absolute dimensions are absurd. I think the same people have the same dysfunction when trying to distinguish between absolute and relative risk.
