I always had this opinion since the album came out. Some songs are hard to listen to tbh but I actually fw alot of these songs

And I disagree, I think Carti is surrounded by yes men who won't criticize his work much like Kanye, which led to an underwhelming album. A lot of artists can maintain their originality and make good music while also being mainstream, but recently more an more artists sound like they are making songs tailored to go viral and absorbed by suburban white kids.

Lil keed was one of my favorite artists before tik tok, he was original and paired a unique style with a really straight out of atlanta sound. But now his songs, much like cartis, were just repetitive hooks on basic beats. Sounds like music for kids now. Artists like chief keef and future probably will never lose their sound no matter how big they are because they don;t face the same pressures to adapt since they would lose fans by conforming.

Anyways, as much as Carti is a god his fans are annoying. They remins me of russ/ logic/ tecca/ these new jack harlow fans which are all faggy twitter bitch bois. But those artists I listed also suck, unlike Carti.

Listen to thouxanbanfauni and unotheactivist or maybe even sahbhabi and yung bans if you don't already. They have original styles but will probably never be huge because of it. If they ever started trying to make really mainstream stuff I would stop listening.

Yung Bans is fye I'll listen to the other two but, he got his criticism this album. Whether it was his fault or not the shit he pulled with this album waiting 2 years was AIDS. If he dropped it sooner or his original shit never got leaked everyone would probably be praising this shit

Executive production, and producers matter the most imo, pierre borne was responsible for most of Carti's old sound. The producer is gonna set the sound, and the original production for this album got kicked off like a couple months before the release. Mexiko dro was the original producer, album would have been better w him imo.

Tbh I talked about it with my friends Pierre lowkey did carry carti. Most of the good songs on WLR are Pierre beats
