Robert Hansen. His story is something out of a movie
Serial killer who lived in Alaska. He'd drive around at night and look for sex hookers to kidnap and torture. After beating them in his basement for a few days, he'd take the victim to his personal aircraft carrier at the airport, then fly to a secluded island which had his cabin. There, "the real game" would begin. Hansen would 'free' the hookers and allow them to run for their freedom, unbeknownst to them, the island was surrounded by thin ice which covered freezing water that spanned for tens of miles away from any civilization. Hansen knew they had zero chance of surviving this ordeal. This false sense of hope Hansen would give to his victims made the "hunting" more exciting for him. This hunting would last for nights. He'd jumpscare them, attack them just to slash cuts that'd bleed, and watch from far away. The victims would either give up or drop to exhaustion from massive blood loss and trauma. He killed 17 women, it's speculated he killed even more. With estimations of 50+ women based off maps and the "X's" he drew on them to mark the buried remains.
