well 2020 was the peak year for wokeness, this is when everyone got obsessed about identity politics, race, orientation, troonery etc that's when they got more visible and, most importantly, loud. pre 2020 they existed but nobody gave a fuck, people mostly just lived their lives. then, what was fringe views of tumblr in 2015, in 2020 became a mainstream liberal philosophy, and we live in fallout of it ever since

as to earlier years, for example a popular argument against "nonbinary" is that there somehow there were no "nonbinary"-identifying people pre-2015 - when this bullshit all started - because indeed, it's a made up identity that came to exist only on political grounds of queer theory, which all came into peak form in 2015
