Most media outlets are controlled by political activists on the left. It is in the best interest of those on the left to constantly remind people that some white people in the US owned slaves like 8 generations ago, and that blacks are, and always have been, vastly under represented in all jobs involving complex reasoning and decision making. This benefit is two fold, 1. it triggers blacks and motivates them to vote for Democrats, 2. It makes white women and young people in general feel guilty and motivates them to vote for Democrats. A corollary of this strategy is to promote things that blacks are good at like running fast and making music.
