1. They adapted to australian harsh climate
2. They retained primordial human features as they had no mutations that became widespread (white skin and blue eyes in Eurasia, blonde hair in melanesia etc.) and they were only 2 waves of migration I believe, the 2nd from around New Guinea so people not that unlike them (still the northern aboriginals look a bit more melanesian because of that)
3. They always had a primitive society so women had to go after best provider/hunter/gatherer instead of going the one that looked the best. Not to mention the one looked the best had good chances of dying before reaching maturity. How good do you think a modern tik tok prettyboy would be at killing kangaroo or knowing which plants are edible and which are poisonous?
