Why are cheekbones so subjective?

Almost anyone, regardless of attractiveness, can have prominent, high cheekbones. An ugly person might have rare, one-in-a-million cheekbones, and many models don't even have very prominent ones.

people really don't understand looks here. Your brain immediately tells you when something is attractive or not, it's not a mathematic formula you have to calculate, those are indicators of health and natural development. So having large cheekbones don't really mean anything in itself. Contouring and compactness are far better indicators.

large cheekbones don't tend to look good, they make the face excessively wide and can look bloated depending on their structure.

the mongolian facial structure is the result of their giantic cheekbones for example.
