some fatcels have muscle underneath, it’s not like they are skinny underneath all the blubber. For example when i was fat i could bench 175ibs untrained first time ever doing it, i wasn’t weak for someone with no lifting experience

weird.. i read somewhere that it's because they're basically "lifting" their fat 24/7 so they have more muscle than ur average skinny guy..

When you have more body fat your muscles leverages change, and another thing is the fact that they’re in a caloric surplus. For example you would be weaker if you’re on a cut

I don’t think that would build muscle but it might help a little

well think about it, a fat dude with 50 more pounds of fat with the same muscle mass as a guy without the fat, and both don’t workout. The fat dude might potentially build more muscle just by carrying all that shit on his body. doesn’t mean it’s good though

it’s not gonna give you an insane physique JFL, but you’re not gonna have anorexic amounts of muscle

mass moves mass has some merit but also often cope, back when I was skinny as a twig I would double my fat friends squat because I had been training for a couple of months, even mogged him on benchpress where he was ~90kg me ~60kg and I was doing 75kg he couldnt get up 60kg. Not to hate on him but its about diet, if you get fat off eating twinkies all day and sitting around you are going to be weak as shit but if you have a good reserve of fat from eating properly its more like a layer to add extra

This is actually true.

Contrary to what you would assume, obese people do actually have more muscle on average.

Don't quote me but pretty sure it's related to hormones, excess energy, constant stress on the body, etc...

When I was borderline obese I used to be freakishly strong out of nowhere, like I could straight up beat the gym bros at my high school despite me not lifting weight at all

Being fat is a constant strain on your muscle, which is also why fat people tend to have really good calves after leaning down

were you self-conscious about being obese?

Some obese ppl talk about near-constant social anxiety but others don't seem to care at all.

Was it self-consciousness or more of a fear-based thing (you were simply used to hiding your body)?

A lot of it, in arm wrestling for example, is just them putting their body weight to use.

I was 85

Ironically I mostly lost weight thanks to the Covid lock down because I couldn't go out and buy food any time I wanted and had to eat what was in the house

i was living in an obese household, so nothing was really safe to eat. I decided if i couldn't restrict myself from eating just certain things i jist wouldn't eat at all.

ended up eating less than 1000kcal a day everyday for multiple months. fortunately that cured when i went on to live alone and could cook meals for myself.

"body dysmorphia" is definitely real but the phrase "eating disorder" is thrown around so much that people instantly assume they have a mental illness when they experience it.

I used to be a huge binge eater and I remember being fully convinced I was overweight at 18% body fat after a ton of binges. What I saw in the mirror was completely distorted.

they bulk as they eat (put on muscle besides fat) and their muscle adapt to the load of their weight

You know in my family we tend to have fast metabolism

I used to eat for like 5 people (no joke)

I ate practically every hour, it's a miracle I didn't weight more

trust me me too. growing up obviously i didn't count calories but now that i look at it 5000 kcal a day was a minimum.

the drastic change from 5000 to <800 definitely fucked up my health. but i was a child and didn't know better, i just wanted to feel good in my body for once in my life. used to do these online HIIT exercises in my room all night.

if only i knew all i had to do was a clean deficit and actually go to the gym.

i didn't step foot into the gym untill almost 2 years after i lost that weight. now I'm addicted to it, could've had an insane physique if i started early :ROFLMAO:

I mean since they consume more they have generally more muscle mass.

And living with the fat is almost an exercise itself

To check if someone has muscles underneath u should see if the fat sags more or less:feelsokman:

any kind of weight gain is an anabolic process, even if you are sitting on your ass and eating cheetos to get obese, a certain percentage of that mass gained will be muscle, its just how weight gain works. The amount of muscle or fat you gain depends on the food being consumes, your hormones, metabolism, genetics, and the strain on your muscles aka lifting. Regardless a 200 lbs person will almost always have more muscle than a 140 lbs person regardless of body composition
