Why are People Obsessed with being Models?

Whenever I talk with someone who wants to look better but isn’t a real looksmaxer (they just do some tiktok cope bullshit), their goal is always to be a model. They don’t care about actually looking good, they just want to have a job that makes it sound like they look good

“Muh i model = sexy”

Most models don’t even look attractive.
Even on the runway, castings focus on unique features rather than attractiveness.

I mean I guess it could just be for a job but it doesn’t pay very well, you don’t get to keep any clothes or anything, and there’s so much easier ways to make money.

It’s basically validation. “I’m a model” sounds cooler than “I’m working on my looks,” even if the reality is rejection and terrible lighting.

I think its just a narrative that models look more attractive but in this day and age models come in all shaped and sizes. Literally
