Realistically the more equal economically a nation is the higher the importance of looks.

f.x.: In places like Denmark economic equality is so high that looks realistically play a far larger role in the dating market here than any poor country because the QOL between a factory worker and a neuro surgeon is way way smaller than in poorer countries.

A factory worker in Scandinavia will still be able to buy his own house, car, pay for dates, vacations, buy decent clothes, have time for gym etc.
A high earner will not have any extra options, only better versions.

This seems true on paper but my country has high economic equality similar to denmark yet there is almost no importance of looks here, the women here are all massive whores
